Within the 14 days we spent in California, the 3 days around Big Sur National Park had to be my favorite.  The first day we backpacked 3 miles up the coastal mountains to spend a night in the mountains.   It was really something to start at sea level, hike through the clouds and end way up above the cloud line.  The second day was spent camping along the beach and the third day was dedicated to getting the bus towed to San Fran after a coil of wires burnt up, interesting stories from the 3rd day….

Throughout my time in Philadelphia in 2008-2010

Last summer, July 2009, my brother Shawn and I hiked the Long Trail in Vermont.  The trail runs 272 miles along the Green Mountain Range from the Massachusetts/ Vermont border to the Canadian border.  We averaged between 8 to 12 miles a day, our longest day being 17 miles over Camel’s Hump.  We  stopped in towns every 5 to 8 days, Killington/Rutland, Middlebury, Burlington, and Stowe, to resupply, relax, and shower.  Friends and family met up with us throughout the 30 day adventure to join us for stretches of the trail.  Check out some of the photos I took along the way.
